Deceptive Marketing Practices

Vinylize Initiates Campaign Against WOODYS BCN Over Trademark Infringement and Misleading Claims

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY — Tipton Eyeworks, owner of Vinylize has officially launched a campaign against WOODYS BCN for intellectual property violation, and deceptive marketing practices.

WOODYS BCN launched an eyewear collection marketed as being crafted from authentic vinyl records. Vinylize asserts that this collection is a low-quality imitation that copies Vinylize’s signature concepts and frame shapes. Furthermore, independent verification reveals that WOODYS' marketing claims are entirely misleading, as the collection is not made from actual vinyl material, but Chinese acetate with vinyl grooves imitation on it.

"I don’t mind copying; it is part of being human," said Zachary Tipton, founder of Vinylize. "What is disappointing is the total lack of originality and the low quality. WOODYS did nothing to innovate; they simply stole it and made it worse. I feel bad for Queen fans. The band was a true pioneer, and now their legendary name is being associated with a second-tier copycat product."

Zachary Tipton is the pioneering creator of the vinyl record eyewear concept and the rightful owner of multiple international trademarks safeguarding this innovation. These include European Union Trademark Reg. No. 015000078, United States Trademark Reg. No. 5382668, and Canadian Trademark Reg. No. TMA1015036.

A Bold Response to "Turn and Burn" Copying

Traditional legal battles move slowly, often allowing bad actors to profit from stolen intellectual property before a court can intervene. To combat WOODYS' fast-fashion "turn and burn" replication model, Vinylize is launching an unconventional public awareness campaign to educate consumers on intellectual property theft.

Vinylize has released a music video inspired by the fierce, direct nature of 1990s American diss tracks. The video publicly calls out WOODYS for its low-quality production, design theft, and false advertising.

Why initiate a campaign, you may ask

Legal proceedings (and yes they are under way) take years to resolve. WOODYS is running a turn and burn campaign. This will not be part of their collection for a long time. Many of their products are copies of other companies work. Take a look at Anne et Valentin, Face á Face.  Our company is built on recycling vinyl and we have trademarked the look. This enables us to protect it. And just like any musician, we hate it when our work is miscredited.
