Caring for your Vinylize

The first vinyl frame was crafted by Vinylize in 1998, so it's safe to say that we have picked up some valuable tips on how best to care for your groovy frames.

1. How do I clean my frames?

You can clean the frames with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. You can also use lens cleaner found in most optical shops. Using an ultrasonic cleaner is also an option. We have found that very often prescription lenses are more sensitive than the frames themselves.

2. Will my Vinylize scratch?

Take care of your Vinylize frames like a good record. With proper care they will not scratch. Keep in mind that the material is not scratch proof. After a couple years they will acquire a patina that becomes solely yours.

3. How can I adjust my frames?

With the help of heat, they can be adjusted. Most trained opticians will adjust the frame to your features for optimum comfort after the insertion of your prescription lenses. Write us for tips if you are required to do it at home.

4. Can I put prescription lenses in my Vinylize?

You most certainly can. If you are buying your first Vinylize frame online, you can take it to your local optician. They can easily insert your prescription lenses. Just put us in touch with them if they have any questions.

5. How durable are Vinylize frames?

Properly taken care of, Vinylize frames can easily last up to a decade. This is the result of the quality of the materials and the robustness of the frames. All things considered, it is prudent to follow the care guidelines:
-do not expose to extreme temperatures (don't leave them on the dashboard of your car in the summer and don't take them glacier climbing).
-Do not wear them as a headband, it stretches them out.
-Do not apply extreme pressure to them (don't step on them, don't let your dog chew them, don't fall asleep in them, basic common sense).
